As always, tech and pop culture news came streaming down our news feeds, and Mashable readers were quick to respond.

When the Internet hijacked Walmart's campaign in order to send Pitbull to a remote island, readers took the opportunity to poke fun at "Mr. Worldwide," advising him to dress warmly for what looks like an impending trip to Kodiak Island.

The unveiling of the cover of J.K. Rowling's new novel for adult readers also inspired a spirited discussion -- leading fans to debate the true meaning of judging a book by its cover.

Readers also reacted strongly when the U.S. Patent Office granted Apple a patent for a "peripheral treatment of head-mounted displays" -- in other wor…
